PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

I love incorporating art history in my art lessons. After my trip to Europe I was inspired to create a European based lesson in all of my elementary classes.

For fourth grade I decide to introduce my students to the Gates of Paradise in Florence, Italy. We discuss how you can tell a story using just one image and how bronze is cast. The students create their own section of the Gates of Paradise using copper tooling.

This lesson can last one class period or up to 3 depending on how you arrange it. This lesson plans includes essential questions, objectives, goals, national art standards, and a checklist for evaluation.

Check out the PowerPoint I used to introduce this project here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Elementary-Art-Education-4th-Grade-Gates-of-Paradise-PowerPoint-1434003
