This fourth grade summer-themed math review packet includes worksheets and games designed to provide students review with numbers and number sense of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals (aligned with Virginia SOL 4.1-4.3, but applicable to any classroom). This packet is great to use when reviewing for end-of-year SOL testing, to send home with students who need extra practice over the summer, to use at the beginning of the year with fifth-graders, or even to use during the year as you teach these units.
Along with worksheets, there is also a mixed review sheet and game for each standard. An answer key is included.
The standards included are:
4.1 The student will:
a) identify orally and in writing the place value for each digit in a whole number expressed through millions;
b) compare two whole numbers expressed through millions, using symbols (<, >, or = ); and
c) round whole numbers expressed through millions to the nearest thousand, ten thousand, and hundred thousand.
4.2 The student will:
a) compare and order fractions and mixed numbers;
b) represent equivalent fractions; and
c) identify the division statement that represents a fraction.
4.3 The student will:
a) read, write, represent, and identify decimals expressed through thousandths;
b) round decimals to the nearest whole number, tenth, and hundredth;
c) compare and order decimals; and
d) given a model, write the decimal and fraction equivalents.
