Use this ADD ’EM UP! game as a fun way to practice math skills and review some July 4th facts. Students can use pencil and paper to compute the facts or a calculator - your choice - of course! Copy a blank activity mat and the word strip page for each student. Students horizontally cut apart the ten question strips, solve the problems, order them on the activity mat, and then glue them into place.
Students start with the strip that says, BEGIN.This strip is placed at the bottom of the activity mat. Students answer the problem on the BEGIN strip and find the next strip that has the answer on the left. This answer strip is now placed as the second strip from the bottom. Students continue to answer the problems to work their way all the way up the mat. All answers are there and all of the strips will be used. The activity checks itself as you cannot go on to the next question unless the previous one is correct. Students will know they have answered correctly when they reach the
Happy Fourth of July! strip.
