After reading Dr. Seuss’ Fox in Socks with your class, this is a short and fun way for students to review rhyming words. This activity can be completed individually or with a small group (I have found it works well as a partner activity). Each group needs one set of rhyming socks (if you would like the students to work on their cutting skills, have them cut them out!) Have the students flip the socks over, and play a Memory game with them. The student with more rhyming socks at the end of the game wins! The endings focused on for this activity include; -ox, -ig, -at, -un, -et, -ick, -eep, and -ing.
