This PDF file can be used as a slideshow teaching presentation or printed as a lesson outline and guide for teachers. It is a great printable for substitutes as well.
In this art lesson students learn various ways to create space in art, such as overlap, changing height, and changing size. Students create a forest and fox in the moonlight using simple shapes. Students practice watercolor painting techniques and then splatter "snow" to complete their work of art.
This is a fun winter themed work of art that is a huge hit with students and parents. I teach this lesson to my second grade classes, but would also be a great 3-5th grade lesson as well.
Included in the file are:
photo step-by-step visuals
examples of creating space in art and visuals
printable assessment worksheet
