These fraction cards can be used in many ways. This resource comes with 45 cards between -1 and 1.
One way I like to use them is to give each student a card and have them find a partner. The two partners put their cards together using whatever operation you assigned. For example if you ask them to do multiplication and their cards were 8/9 and -1/3 their problem would be (8/9) x (-1/3). I would have students solve the problem together and then trade cards and find a new partner. It's a great way to get students out of their seats and they enjoy working with several different partners.
I have also used these cards to teach ordering and comparing rational numbers. I gave each student a card and told them to line up from least to greatest. I timed each class and had them compete against my other periods.
You could also use them as flash cards and have them convert them to decimals.
