This is a fun and free activity to use to get your students thinking, drawing, and talking about fractions. Students show their understanding of modeling fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers. Each student is given a card with a mixed number written down and it is to be kept top secret! To figure out their mixed number they need to draw a clear fraction representation of the mixed number and write it as an improper fraction.

Their mixed number is revealed under a flap in numerical form! Students go around the classroom identifying each others mixed numbers on a recording sheet included! Have fun and get your students talking about fractions!
