These cookies are fractionated and designed the exact way the customer wants it. For an example, a customer may like a cookie that is ⅓ chocolate chips, ⅓ raisins, and ⅓ vanilla.

Students will…

1. Come up with toppings
2. Come up with prices
3. Date and times of deliveries
4. Marketing- Make posters
5. Go door to door taking orders
6. Fulfill orders (mix, bake, design cookies).
7. Graph data from cookie sales.
Partition shapes into parts with equal areas. Express the area of each part as a unit fraction of the whole. For example, partition a shape into 4 parts with equal area, and describe the area of each part as 1/4 of the area of the shape.
Partition circles and rectangles into two, three, or four equal shares, describe the shares using the words halves, thirds, half of, a third of, etc., and describe the whole as two halves, three thirds, four fourths. Recognize that equal shares of identical wholes need not have the same shape.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems using information presented in a bar graph.
