Fraction Decimal Percent CSI Useful Statistics
Welcome to the Adventures of Detective Candy Blume! This activity is one of a series of CSI inspired products. Your students work with actual data that is useful for any gumshoe. Your students receive a list of data including Eye Color, Handedness, and Fingerprint Types. Your students are asked to convert the fractions (proportions of the population) into percent equivalents. In addition, you and your class will provide your own statistics in these categories and compare them with the information provided. For example you will take a poll to see how many students are left handed and how many are right? Approximately 10% of the population is left handed. Does your class agree with this statistic?
