The Fraction, Decimal, & Percent (FDP) Polling Project is a way for students to practice their skills in converting fractions to decimals to percent.
Students will create a question of their own choosing with answer choices. They will poll students (I usually pick 50 students) and gather their data. They will put the data into a chart and convert between fraction, decimal, and percent. They will write a summary based upon their results.
First, I printed out the two middle pages and had them glue it into their interactive notebook. This was their “rough draft.”
Second, I printed out these four pages on 11x17 white cardstock paper. This way the project was more durable and could be folded into a booklet.
Finally, they decorated the front of the project and I stapled them around the classroom.
