Product Description
Purpose: The overarching goal of these lessons is to review fractions, decimals, and equivalence with the students. This fits into the ‘bigger picture’ because it will remind all students how to use all the operations with fractions and decimals. This lesson is a good refresher because it essential to get this concept down before they can move on. Students need to know about this and I am teaching it to them now because before they can start doing basic operations with decimals, they need to know how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals for future math classes and in life.

Objectives: As a result of this lesson, Students will be able to:
• Write equivalents for decimals, fractions and percents.
• Perform the four basic arithmetic operations for improper fractions, mixed numbers, and simple fractions.
• Explain how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals.
• Solve decimal equations by lining up the decimals the correct way.
• Develop a process for solving any word problem, as well as solve word problems containing fractions or decimals.
• Translate mixed numbers into improper fractions and vice versa.
• Explain and show how fractions can be simplified.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.
• Solve word problems that involve fractions.
• Apply prior knowledge to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.
• Solve fraction word problems and explain each step of the process.
• Explain how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals.
• Solve decimal equations by lining up the decimals the correct way.
• Order decimals from least to greatest.
• Write equivalents for decimals into fractions and to percents.
• Solve word problems by finding equivalents in order to solve the problem.
