Super fun and concrete way for kids to revisit fractional relationships. They will become proficient in exchanging equivalent fractions by adding them to the board, and ultimately subtracting them in the end. Students roll 2 fraction dice, 4 regular 6 sided dice, or one fraction dice and a color cube to choose the correct piece(s) out to place on the board. Students must call out what pieces they are getting and their partner needs to agree that they are correct. Once the board is completely filled, start rolling to take away pieces off. The person to take the LAST piece off the board is the winner.
BTW: Remember and remind your students that if you only have a hexagon (1 whole) and a red trapezoid left on the board, and you roll 2/3 and 1/2. You can EXCHANGE the hexagon for 3/3's and then take 2 away for the first fraction and remove the 1/2 (trapezoid). Remind them they can exchange pieces for "FAIR" equal trades.
