"Fraction Feast" is a math project that encourages students to think critically about fractions in a real world context.
This project has students select a recipe, double the ingredients, and halve the ingredients. The final challenge is to determine how to adjust the ingredients to serve the exact number of people in the class.
Included is a template for a flipbook. I let my students decide if they want to use the flipbook or come up with their own way to present their information. I have included a few pictures of projects from the past to give the students ideas.
Students are invited to make their recipes and bring them to the class Fraction Feast.
This is a great activity for the end of a unit on fractions!
