This game is a fun way for students to identify and compare fractions. It can be used in the classroom as a partner or group “math center” activity. The game includes two levels to allow for differentiation. Level 1 shows students how to make the fraction and fill out the worksheet while Level 2 allows students to be more independent by creating their own divisions to represent the fraction.
* Students will also need a deck of playing cards, crayons, and pencils to play the game.
THIS PRODUCT INCLUDES: Game Directions, Level 1 and 2 Card Sheets, and Level 1 and 2 Fraction Fill-In Worksheets.
DIRECTIONS: Each player is given a Fraction Fill-In Worksheet, and the Card Sheet is placed between players. To begin playing, shuffle the cards and place the stack face down on the table. Each player takes turns selecting the two cards from the stack and placing them face up on the Card Sheet to make and announce the fraction. If the player can fill-in that fraction on the worksheet, he/she colors that fraction. If the fraction cannot be filled in on the player’s worksheet, it’s the next person’s turn. Play continues until one worksheet is complete and a “winner” is declared.
