Are you ready for some football?! Your kids will be! This is a fraction review game I created for my fourth graders. They had a BLAST! There are five yard lines. Each has a fraction problem on each side for each of the two teams. Time is set to 15 minutes. On the whistle, they flip their football problem, solve, write the final answer in their playbook, and show the "official" the answer. Correct answers advance to the next yard line. Wrong answers get a penalty flag and have to rework the problem. Once they finish the ten yard line problem, they have scored a touchdown and a timeout is called so the official get put out five new problem on their side. Play resumes until all 15 problems have been answered or the 15 minute timer sounds. The problems get a little harder as students go. The time limit puts on the pressure.
Skills: Identify fraction models, simplify, add and subtract fractions and mixed fractions, multiply fractions, and equivalent fractions.
You can divide your students into any size team you like. It was crazy, loud, exciting, and ENGAGING! So much fun!
