Are your students just beginning to learn the concept of fractions? If yes, then check this activity out. Students end up making their very own fractions poster!
This fractions activity is to help your students learn to write fractions, learn to compare the “sizes” of fractions, and learn how equal fractions make a “whole” when put together.
Fractions include: 1/2 1/3, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8
Students are to:
*Practice writing fractions by tracing the fractions on each circle.
*Cut out the fraction pieces.
*Place the fraction pieces over the whole circle on the opposite side of the page to see how the fractions put back together make up one whole.
*Glue their fractions together on colored construction paper to make their own fraction poster!
**An additional use could be to cut out fraction pieces and laminate them to use as manipulatives in your math center.
