Product Description

Do you find fractions to be a difficult concept for your young learners? Learning about halves, quarters, equal and unequal, it's a lot to take in!

What we know about young learners is that they will hold onto information better if they are having fun while learning it. These fun and interactive activities are a great way to target tricky concepts.

Your students will have fun with these activities during your math centers! And you will love the easy prep!

Check out the blog post to read more.

This pack contains a structured approach to teaching your fraction unit; one that introduces the topic and then reinforces it with fun learning activities.

Begin with teaching your year one or year two students to identify equal and unequal parts (this part is crucial in the early understanding of fractions).

Move on to teaching wholes and halves, quarters and finally thirds.

These activities make sure your class understands the fraction word form, a fraction as a part of a whole and as a part of a group as they work through the unit. You definitely want to avoid confusion over fractions and not introduce the fraction symbol too early!

The pack contains posters and activity sheets to support the introduction of each fraction concept and then consolidates those tricky concepts with hands-on, motivating games and activities.
