Fraction "Set"- Race to see who can find 3 cards representing the same fraction
Here is another great, fun, engaging game for students to practice not skills involving recognizing fractions in different forms and equivalent fractions, but ALSO, their problem solving, and cognitive and logical reasoning skills!
My kids love this game so much, that they ask for a set for home as well to play outside of school!! That is the best type of activity, because they are having fun, want to play, while learning at the same time!!!
Players compete to find the most “sets. A set consists of 3 cards where the value of each card all equal the same fraction. For example “1/2”, “One Half” and a circle with one half colored in!
However, there is an added rule. In order for it to be a set - the 3 cards need to all be the SAME color (for example: all blue), or they need to all be DIFFERENT colors (for example: green, red, and yellow).
This game can easily be differentiated for different levels of students or different grades. The differentiation levels and grades are explained in the directions.
Here are some of the standard this game hits on:
What is included:
1.) Fraction Set Table of Contents:
2.) Fraction Set Directions
