Fractions can be a tricky concept, and these Fraction Strips or Fraction Equivalence Strips can help kids understand the various ways to make one whole. Tips: Have kids color across the rows so each fraction has it's own color. Next color a quick, unique design on the back to identify whose pieces are whose, without taking the time to write names on every little piece. Cut the strips apart, putting them into a gallon size plastic bag as you go. (The strips 1/3, 1/6, 1/12 could be cut later than the rest.) These can be used to play many fraction games and show equivalence.
