Thanksgiving is a fun time of year, but it’s also a time where you need something to keep your students busy! This great craftivity allows your students to review a key math concept while creating something fun for the holidays. Also included in this craftivity is a work page – you can use this as you wish (student work page, class work page, assessment). Turkey bodies come in color and in black and white.
Ways to use this craftivity:
1. Have students create equivalent fractions for the fractions written on Set A feathers
2. Have students simplify fractions for the fractions written on Set B feathers
3. Combine Sets A and B for a greater challenge
4. Use Set C feathers to create your own fraction problems.
Cut out the feathers. Write your equivalent fraction sets or your simplified fraction sets on the feather stripe. Color both your feathers and turkey body. Attach feathers to the turkey.
Use this craftivity for a bulletin board or hall display, desk decoration, or to hang from
the ceiling in your classroom.
