Let’s face it, fractions are not always the most exciting standard. I really wanted my students to be excited about fractions, and more importantly- really connect with fractions. This activity pack provides several activities you can use to create a fun and interactive pizza centered math time!
I was able to complete this entire pack of activities in one week. I would start with my activating strategy and then my students would complete three group rotations ( game, worksheet, and activity). Day 1 covers partitioning, day 2 covers equivalent fractions, and day 3 teacher comparing fractions. On day 4 my students would alternate going to the different bump games to review, and then on day 5 they took a mini fraction assessment and made their own fraction pizza. Then, I presented our fraction master chef awards.
Included in this pack are over 50 pages of engaging activities! You can go all out like I did and turn your room into a mini pizzeria, or you can just provide your students with some great practice!
I hope you enjoy this resource as much as I do!
