Fraction Warm Ups and Center Math Mats for Upper Grades

This resource gets your upper elementary students thinking about and working with comparing fractions, equivalent fractions, and operations by identifying and visualizing to compare quantities in a fast, fun and engaging way. Proper fractions in picture, number and word form are included - over 200 cards are included in this resource!

Math Mats can be used in so many ways in the classroom:

•Use the mat as a whole class warm-up activity, projecting the mat for students to see and having them use the A/B, True/False, or = cards to participate.

•Use in the same way as a review activity after a lesson.

•Use the mats in a guided or small group math session and letting the students manipulate the cards on the mats.

•Use the mats as a math station activity or partner activity.

This resource includes:

• 8 different Math Mats – Skills covered include comparing and ordering fractions, and operations with fractions - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

•A/B, True/False, = Student Cards – Students hold up these cards during math mat work to indicate their answers. The large print makes it easy for the teacher to quickly identify any areas of misconception or students that may need extra assistance.

•Number Cards – There are over 200 proper fraction cards included - in number, picture, and word form.

•Entrance and Exit Slips for comparing fractions, as well as one for each of the operations with fractions are included (answers are also included).
