This is two activities to help students learn fractions in the tenths place. The first activity is a fraction sort that has students cutting, sorting, and matching fractions, decimals, words, and their picture models.
This product can be differentiated in several ways:
1. Students can sort all the different types of fractions and decimals.
2. Students can use the recording sheet that already had the picture models and write in the fractions, decimals, and words for the hardest challenge.
3. Students can use the recording sheet that already has the picture models and just sort the fractions, decimals, and words for less of a challenge.
The second activity is a matching game with students matching fractions from 1/10 to 10/10 with the fraction, decimal, word, and picture model.
There are two options for the picture model of the tenths place (base ten block model or a ten rod model).
Both activities would be great in a math center! Or use the matching game for practice and the sort as an independent assessment!
