Students will love to visualize fractional relationships between different polygons in this effective SMART Board presentation. The following pattern blocks are included: hexagon, trapezoid, rhombus, and triangle. The presentation is divided into four groups:
* Group 1 includes various displays of pattern blocks that are intended for whole-group instruction. The teacher has the freedom to create his or her own partitions of pattern blocks, and then label each fractional part.
* Group 2 includes partitioned pattern blocks to reinforce the fractional relationships between the polygons. The teacher or student can simply select a partition, and then the fractional part will appear.
* Group 3 includes geometric designs, where the student can find the fractional parts of each color. Select a question to "shrink and grow."
* Group 4 includes a six-question assessment. The teacher can select the question mark icon to reveal the correct answer.
