This is a fun pizza challenge fractions activity that also requires the use of equivalent fractions. My kids always love it!! I would consider it an advanced challenge-type activity. I have used it with 3rd and 4th graders after we have learned about fractions, compared fractions, etc. It will give you insight into how well your kids are understanding equivalent fractions.
The kids are instructed to 'build their pizza' by putting toppings on the pizza using different shapes. For example, a circle represents pepperoni. They are then told to put toppings on such as this: pepperoni covers 1/2 of the pizza. 1/4 needs mushrooms, but you can not have pepperoni and mushrooms on the same piece.
It is fun and challenging!! Plus, you can really get an idea of how well they are understanding concepts.
**Two sheets are included. I included a larger pizza outline sheet in case you feel some kids may need a larger circle.
