I created these materials when I was teaching a fifth and sixth grade split class and I found I needed something to supplement the heavily problem-solving curriculum we were using. My students needed a balance of practice problems and everyday problem-solving.
Included in this packet are two versions of a worksheet with a shopping problem for each, a set of tables where students convert fractions to their equivalent decimals and percents and a complete answer key for all of the problems.
I recommend having student use calculators for the Fraction, Decimal, Percent Tables. I wanted my students to see the patterns more than I wanted them to practice their computation. Use your teacher judgment.
The last two pages are the black and white version of my fraction and decimal strips. These can be cut apart to be used as manipulatives or kept whole as a reference chart.
