This package includes FOUR products that are listed in my TPT Store for a total of over 135 pages.
Included are lessons, games and worksheets. Many of the resources are to be used as mini-lessons (powerpoint style) with the focus of:
-converting fractions, percents and decimals
-ordering fractions, percents and decimals
-repeating and terminating decimals
-finding the percent of a number
There are multiple slides to supplement your instruction on decimals, fractions and percents, through notes, examples, diagrams and problems. They are not so much meant to be done from start to finish, but in mini-lesson sections as needed.
There are 10 printable worksheets total (solutions included) for students to get extra paper/pencil practice on converting between fractions, percents and decimals, as well as ordering numbers in ascending or descending order and finding the percent of a number. A fun math riddle worksheet is also included.
FOUR games are included in this package as well.
The first is called "Smack It".
Students must correctly answer a question by converting between fractions, percents and decimals and be the first to "Smack" the answer to win the round.
This game is played as a whole class, projecting the question slides on to the whiteboard.
I have included 3 rounds of five questions AND a one question bonus round that the whole class answers (this conveniently works as a formative assessment for you - after all the fun!) Students are asked to order fractions, percents and decimals in the "bonus round".
Three Additional games: Memory, Mine! and Go Fish
-Over 50 game cards that can be used with the three games: Mine!, Memory and Go Fish - to save you time copying/cutting you'll just use the one set! (Mine! is a game of my own creation and my grade 7s love it!)
-A very colorful printable game board for Mine!
-A game board with most of the color removed for Mine! (to save on ink, if you wish)
-Instruction sheets for all three games
Finding the Percent of a Number
If you are introducing (or re-introducing) the topic of "Finding a Percent" this is a great resource (grade 6-8).
I've included instructions for making a "Percent Slider" which is a simple manipulative to aid students with finding typical percents. They are quick and easy to make and require materials teachers already have.
Included as well, are examples to work through with the class, via PowerPoint, using the slider as a manipulative. If you don't care to actually make the sliders, the strategy can still be applied, using the same principles, but with diagrams - great for visual learners!
Included as well are simple notes and examples to work through with the class, on finding 1%, 10% and 5% of a number.
Please check out the FREE PREVIEW for a closer look at what you'll be getting with this download and please ask any questions that you have!
