Practice fractions skills with these 7 activities designed to engage students in fun center activities that reinforce fraction skills learned in grades 3-5. Most of the games are in full color but I have also included black and white versions or removed the color backgrounds to allow savings in ink.

INCLUDED:

• Applelicious Equivalent Fractions: A game for 2 players to practice equivalent fractions.

• Build your Ice Cream Cone: A fun activity where students build an ice cream cone finding scoops with the equivalent fractions for the fraction shown on the cone. A full color version and black and white version included. Students can color the black and white version.

• Multiple representations: Students copy and paste multiple ways to represent the given fraction using different models of the same or equivalent fraction.

• Fraction Sort: Students use given fraction cards and sort them into “Less than ½, Exactly ½ or Greater than ½

• True or False Sort: Students are given cards with statements about a particular fraction. They must sort them into a True or False category. Skills include fractions on a number line, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and fractions as whole numbers

• Guess the Fraction or Mixed Number: A board game for 2 where students practice guessing the fraction given a set of clues. Skills include: comparing fractions, fractions on a number line, fractions as whole numbers, adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with same denominator, decomposing fractions

• Add’em, Subtract’em, Sort’em: An activity where students add and subtract fractions with same denominator, then sort them into three categories: Less than ½ , Exactly ½ or Greater than ½

All activities are aligned to the Common Core State Standards for grades 3-5
