Product Description
No prep printables for Math Centers: simplest form, equivalents, fractions of amounts / quantities, converting improper to mixed numbers. Fun alternative worksheets for bell ringers / warm ups, early finishers, homework activities. Third and Fourth Grade Common Core.

These Hidden Word / Spot the Mistakes Puzzles (with Answer Keys) could be used within the same class to provide differentiation and for review / revision. They can be completed by individual students, pairs, or small groups.

This PDF file includes the following puzzles:
Puzzles 1 and 2: Equivalent Fractions
Puzzle 3: Fractions in Simplest Form / Simplifying Fractions
Puzzle 4: Fractions of Quantities (Unit Fractions)
Puzzle 5: Fractions of Quantities (Harder)
Puzzle 6: Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions

You will come back to these resources year after year to use different puzzles with different classes and groups. Similar to codebreaker or secret code puzzles, a math-related word is revealed after completing the work. Each puzzle contains a grid. Within each box is a fraction / calculation and a letter. Pupils circle any boxes containing incorrect answers or errors such as non-equivalent fractions (depending on which puzzle it is). Then they assemble letters from the circled boxes to reveal a math word. There's a further question / task at the bottom of the page linked to the word.

Pupils often forget or avoid checking their work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking in these puzzles. Spotting errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves.
