PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Decomposing fractions: Are your students tired of worksheets? This game lets students answer questions like they would on worksheets independently but they get to move around. How fun is that? My students love playing this, and were asking when we will play this game as I was making it on my computer today during recess.

What common core does this game use?

This is aligned with fourth grade:
4.NF.3 adding fractions
4.NF.3 break apart fractions
4.NF.3 count by equivalent fractions

What do your students need to know in order to play?
I teach from ENY curriculum so it goes with Module 5 lessons 1 through 4. If you teach this curriculum then play it as a review after lesson 4. You do not need to teach from this curriculum in order to play the game!
They need to know how to use tape diagrams and number bonds to break down fractions.
They need to know how to add fractions and keep the denominator the same and add the numerator.

If you liked this I have another SCOOT game on measuring triangles that is aligned with fourth grade common core for geometry strands. Check out my store!
