This is the first out of a set of six weeks. This is a fraction review that can be used as an introduction to fractions or a review of concepts that was previously taught. This starts with the students representing fractions on a number line and utilizing a bar model.
I have used this in my class in the beginning of my math block. The first day we did as whole group and by the end of the week the students did it on their own. The rest of the week, we went over together as a whole group and the students checked their own work. A graph is provided for the students to track their progress. The last day can be used as a grade. This can also be used in small groups for those students that need more assistance with fractions or high 2nd graders wanting more practice.
