This basic fractions unit is a great way to introduce and lay the foundation for division. These worksheets help you introduce equal parts and sharing equally, which aligns with the Common Core for grades 2 and 3.

Best of all - NO PREP! Print and go - you're ready for class!

My students were struggling with fractions, so I developed this packet when I realized that my students were unable to split jellybeans into equal shares. I developed this fraction packet as my intervention activity.

You will find 3 posters for the benchmark fractions 1/2, 1/3, and ¼, along with various worksheets to use for each of those concepts.

No Prep needed - make copies and teach!

You don't have to use every worksheet – pick and choose pages that fit your students’ needs. If they catch on to a concept quickly, use the additional fractions and equal shares worksheets as a review or to differentiate with struggling students.

Worksheet page numbers are found in the bottom right-hand corner to help you quickly find what you are looking for within this packet.

What you receive:

  • Introduction
  • Posters - 3 page-sized posters
  • Equal Shares worksheets and answer keys (page numbered 4 – 20)
  • Fractions (with answer keys) pages 21 - 36.

Worksheets #17 and #18 are similar but differentiated pages. Choose the one that best suits your students and class, or mix and match.

Answer Keys included! Answer keys are included behind pages that have standard answers – some pages allow the students to make up their own problems so a very basic answer key is included for those.
