Developing a robust understanding of numbers and how they break down and come together to make larger numbers is crucial to the development of number sense and problem-solving in young learners. These activities can be used as independent work or easily be transformed into stations. Students will identify examples and nonexamples of halves, fourths, and eighths as well as partition objects and shade appropriate fractional parts. Continue the learning with the puzzle station.
