Topic: Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions

Using Number Line as a Visual Fraction Tool;

- Students learn to identify Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions on a number line. With a given Improper Fraction on a point on the number line, students express the Improper Fraction into a Whole Number or a Mixed Fraction.

- Students then learn to change Improper Fractions into Mixed Numbers or a Whole Number and also change Mixed Numbers into Improper Fractions.

Subsequently, students work out answers based on numeric terms without number line.

The ability to express improper fractions into a whole number or a mixed fractions or vice versa lays the foundation of building fraction unit. This is an essential skill when students progress to do adding fractions including mixed numbers and/or improper fractions.

Also include a page for student to learn to read volume of water in containers based on vertical (number line) marking. This helps students to apply math skills they learn in real life.

Total of 42 exercises for practice.
