### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Naming fractions on a number line is a skill my students often need to practice a great deal. Using this set of task cards students must identify the point on each number line where the snowflake is located. Then they record the fraction on the answer sheet.

♦ This file contains 26 task cards for students to use to identify fractions on a number line. These task cards can be used for early finishers, as a center activity, for solve around the room or to play the game Scoot. Print, cut and laminate the cards. I like to punch a hole in my cards and put them on a ring so they stay in order. I have included an optional cover card and a directions card.
♦ Three versions of the answer sheet for use with 18, 22 or 26 cards. Print the one that meets your needs. Answer sheets are also included.
♦ These can be printed in color but look great in grayscale or black and white.

Topics Included:
♦ Cards #1-18: Identifying fractions between 0 and 1 on a number line.
♦ Cards #19-22: Identifying fractions between 0 and 1 on a number line that goes beyond 1.
♦ Cards #23-26: Identifying fractions greater than 1 on a number line that starts at 0 and goes beyond 1.
♦ There are 3 different answer sheets in case you don’t want to use all 26 cards with your students.
♦ Denominators included are 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8.

Centers & Early Finishers:
Ask students to record their answers on the provided page (or just have students number a blank page from 1-26). Students answer the question on each card on their paper.

Scoot:
To play Scoot, you place a card on each child’s desk. Each child should answer their card on the correct location on their recording sheet. Make sure students look at the number of their card to see where to begin on the recording sheet. Then when you give a signal all students move to the next desk and record the next answer. You can check answers as a class at the end of the game.
