A hands on learning activity to explore fractions using unifix cubes. Students will identify fractional parts of different sets of unifix cubes. They will color and write the name of fractions using halves, thirds, fourths, fifths, sixths, sevenths, eights, ninths, tenths, elevenths, and twelfths. Students will write and draw factions, and compare fractional parts using the symbols for less than, greater than, and equal. This activity can be used to teach fractions in a mini lesson, center, or independent and guided practice.
