My students completed this unit before Spring Break and had a blast! I had not seen them so engaged in their reading and writing all year! They loved reading and hearing all of the traditional and fractured fairy tales, but most of all, they loved coming up with and writing their very OWN fractured fairy tale! Our class discussions about what elements the author changed from the original story where awesome, and even my quietest students spoke up to contribute. I REALLY enjoyed teaching this unit, and I hope you will, too!
