The purpose of these task cards is to help middle school and high school students differentiate between fragments, complete sentences and run-on sentences.
This lesson includes: 42 Task Cards
Decide how you are going to group students and how you want the students to use the task cards. Activities can be completed individually as well.
Each task card includes a fragment, complete sentence or run-on sentence. The students must decide the correct answer. In order to increase the level of difficulty, the students can also explain the reason for the correct choice and then indicate how they would change it to a complete sentence.
The answer key will include a section where students can explain the reason for each of their choices as well as correcting each sentence, if applicable.
Provide students with an answer key, if you want them to grade their own work.
It is strongly recommended that you Xerox these task cards and answer key on card stock and laminate them.
