In pairs or in groups of three, students will create an original objective test that is NOT comprehension test but rather a thorough review of what the students learned: genre study, literary lens, themes, etc. This is a common core, PARCC performance based assessment (PBA) task. Next, the students took the test themselves and argued the validity of the questions and REVISED the test; thus creating an authentic assessment and a GREAT exam!!! And to show you how well it worked - I included an actual class produced test with answer key included. Warning, this is a difficult test made by honors students. But is shows me what they learned (which impressed me!!). This activity is educational, creative and truly emphasizes the skills learned.
