Wrap up a study of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein with this student-directed activity that integrates close reading, writing, speaking and civics. Students form groups in a civil trial that puts Victor Frankenstein on the defense. While the plaintiff and defense compile their cases, judge and jury research modern day examples of Frankenstein to share with their classmates. Each student is also responsible for a written assignment tailored to his or her role in the project.
