Franklin Roosevelt Webquest and Video Analysis with Key- This is a 14 page document that contains a webquest and a completed teachers key for easy marking. It contains 45 questions based on a History Channel video (The U.S. Presidents Series on YouTube) and the History.com website.

Students will begin this assignment by watching the U.S. Presidents Series Video: Franklin Roosevelt (on YouTube). The video will introduce the time period and go over the key themes and events of Roosevelt's presidency. The personality and leadership style of Franklin Roosevelt is first explained by the video. The video then goes on to provide detailed information about many events of FDR's presidency, including: his battle with polio, his famous first "100 days" in office, the New Deal, the subsequent legislation he passed, and America's involvement in World War 2. The video concludes by examining his time at the Yalta Conference, his discussions with Churchill and Stalin, and eventual death upon returning to the United States. Following the video, students will proceed to the History.com website and read a biographical article about Franklin Roosevelt. His youth and college years are first examined as is his familial connection to Teddy Roosevelt. The article then goes on to cover his time in politics prior to the presidency, primarily as the governor of New York. The article gives more in depth information on the New Deal as well as Roosevelt's breaking with tradition and running for an unprecedented 4 terms in office. The article also reviews FDR's leadership prior to and during World War 2, going over the Lend Lease Act, the Atlantic Charter, and his leadership during hostilities.

This webquest can be easily used as an introduction to the topic, a study guide, or a quick and easy sub plan.
