Franny K. Stein is a wonderful story emphasizing friendship and recognizing individual strengths. I typically use this novel study at the beginning of school year to introduce my class to novel studies. The activities will work well whole group, for guided reading, or as an independent activity.
Most of my students end up reading the rest of the series on their own. This is one of those books that all my students (boys and girls!) absolutely love. This last year, almost my whole class ended up independently read every Franny K. Stein book. They keep asking when their will be another one.
