Frederick Douglass was instrumental in working to abolish slavery. Prior to the work he did as an abolitionist, he escaped from slavery on board a train headed for the north, hence the graphic organizer depicting a train. Topic-based graphic organizers are a great to help students relate the topic of study to the main ideas needed to gain an enduring understanding.

It is encouraged that you enlarge this graphic so that students will have more room to write their facts.
