Want your kids to recommend books? Use my free template to make it happen! It's cute, and it won't take up too much wall space, which is a must since space is a commodity in the classroom.
Students can use this template as a tool to help them talk about the book they are recommending. They will talk about the book's main characters, what they want, and a little bit about the obstacle the character is facing. (This is part of the "Somebody wanted but so then" framework.) However, this structured book talk will not give the whole plot away, so students will be interested in reading the recommended book. Students will also get to articulate what they admire about a writer's work and why others should read the book. This is a short template, but it does hit several Literacy Common Core State Standards!
I hope this helps your students to build a buzz around books! Read more about how to use this template on this blog post
