Need a year end project for your Open House?
This is a short, fun activity that incorporates art, engages students of almost all levels, and makes for a neat display. I made them for the year-end open house and hung them in the hallway. I will use them next year for back to school night and leave them up so students can see what other students have read and enjoyed.
What you get:
• 2 files of different sized book spines. The smaller one can be printed on regular sized paper, and the larger is an 11x 17” size if you have access to that.
What to do:
• Print off as many pages as you’d like. I cut them up into individual spines.
• Students choose a spine of their choice, add the title, author, their name and a rating, then color it and cut it out.
• The teacher or a student can draw bookends or a bookshelf on a larger piece of paper, then glue the spines to the shelf.
