It is always a good idea to use Positive Language when you are trying to manage those kiddos and build a strong classroom community!

It is also a great idea to have reminders for yourself so you remember positive ways to redirect your students.

These Positive Language clouds were used in my classroom for years to help me use a more responsive approach to classroom management and build a more positive classroom community.

I created these clouds for so many colleagues in the past, I thought you might like them, too.

The clouds are intended for teachers to hang on a wall within sight to support use of positive language when responding to classroom behavior or to use for classroom management.

I had them on the wall above my sink where I was able to see them wherever I was standing in the classroom. I mounted the airplane provided in front of the clouds and the language clouds behind the airplane as if the plane was flying in the clouds.

How to assemble:

☁ First cut out and laminate all clouds and the plane.

☁ Then laminate all pieces for future use.

☁ Find a wall that is above your eye level and mount all the pieces so the clouds appear to be following or behind the plane.

☁ Please see cover for how they might look in your classroom.

Use:

☁ These clouds intend is to help you rephrase your language and develop a more positive approach to behavior management.
When a situation develops in your classroom, look up at the clouds and an appropriate frame with a phrase which bests fits the situation.

☁ For example: A child runs to the rug...our first response is: Stop running.Instead look up and chose: “Show me a safer way to come to the rug. Let’s replay that.”

☁ I child is fidgety: I see you are having difficulty sitting on the rug. Show me how we should sit on the rug. Or You need to sit smart on the rug. Show what that looks like.
