You will need:
A pair of dice for each student (of course, some can share). The number 6 on each die should not be used, so if students roll that number they should ignore it and roll again. A round sticky dot on each 6 works wonders as a reminder.
To complete this activity:
Print off a worksheet for each student. Students roll the dice, add the 2 numbers, then look for the matching tally mark at the bottom.
Students use that specific color to shade the next section of the picture. For eg, on the first roll they color the ears, on the second roll the face is colored, and so on. Any parts of the picture left uncoded may be colored in any shade.
I have provided a lightly colored version to assist students in working independently when determining what colors to use.
Australian spelling plus French versions are also included.
I do hope your children enjoy this activity!
