Product Description

This resource is a set of 40 cards that contain integers from -20 to 20, including zero.

A blank set of 4 cards is also provided if you would like to customize them.

This document is a non-editable PDF file, so if you want to customize the blank cards, you can either hand-write them in, or you can save the PDF as an image (PNG or JPEG), insert it into a program you use for editing, and insert text boxes with the numbers you would like to use and then print the cards.

I have used these cards for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students but I think they could be adaptable for any grade level.

How I Use These Cards

•I always print these on card stock, and if possible I laminate them.

•Randomly create student groups.

•Form a group of 4 negative integers

•Group as 1,2,3,4 or -1, -2, -3, -4, etc

•Pair up with a person with a card of the same sign as you

•Practice the 6th grade skill of finding opposites: Give all students a card and have them mix up and practice finding their opposite match.

•Form a human number line. Count your students, and hand out the appropriate number of cards that will result in a human number line when formed properly.
