Product Description
A tongue twister is a language game that is always fun for everyone!

"Aka Pajama, Ao Pajama, Ki Pajama" is a beloved Japanese tongue twister.

This material is good for Japanese language beginners.
I saw many shy students willingly challenge themselves with this game!

Goals:
*Learn three basic colors (Aka-red, Ao-blue, Ki-yellow).
*Learn the pronunciation of Pajama in Japanese (no accent on 'ja').
*Gain the courage to speak up in Japanese

Step by Step Instruction - How to play:

First time - Introduction

1) The teacher slowly pronounces each word as she/he points to the pictures one by one.
"Aka Pajama. Ao Pajama. Ki Pajama"

2) The teacher lets the students repeat the phrases at the same slow speed.

3) Once the students get comfortable with the pronunciation, repeat the phrase three
times together while increasing the speed.
Please make sure not to repeat it too many times.
Only once for the first class.
This prevents the students from getting bored.
Put away this picture and move to the next activity.

-------
Second time and thereafter

1) The teacher and students slowly pronounce each word as the teacher points to each picture.
"Aka Pajama. Ao Pajama. Ki Pajama"
(Before you start, ask the students to join you.)

2) Immediately after, the teacher repeats the phrase twice as its speed gets faster.
Please check to see who is not speaking up or is a bit shy.

3) Immediately after the third time, the teacher raises her/his hand quickly and asks
for a challenger by saying 'Challenger!' or 'Volunteer!'.
Pick three challengers one by one.
Pick two students who raised their hand voluntary, then for the last student,
encourage a shy student to participate even if the student did not raise her/his
hand . If he/she says ‘NO’, never insist. Pick another student.
When a shy student bravely challenges her/himself, please do not over-praise
her/him. Just treat the student the same as the other students.

4) After each student recites the tongue twister, please be sure to praise the
performance vigorously in Japanese. (Sugoi! Yatta! Jyo-zu! Subarashii! etc.)
With a youngsters class, encourage the challenger’s classmates to applaud the
challenger by clapping hands.

Please bring a lot of smiles to your class with this activity and have fun yourself, too!
