Product Description
This lesson explores the often repeated terms of free market and capitalism. It uses definitions of these terms and numerous examples to underscore certain realities about fair competition, free markets and our capitalist system. It talks about the difference between a market entrepreneur and a political one. It demonstrates how monopolies, lobbying and corporate power are able to tilt the economic playing field in their favor. It calls into question whether some widely held beliefs can be backed by reality. The lesson also includes essential questions and links to all materials referenced. The teacher is free to modify the lesson in any manner that facilitates its use in the classroom. (This product has been very successfully classroom tested)
